Information for clients
Confidentiality is an important cornerstone of therapy. I adhere to the British Association for Counselling And Psychotherapy (B.A.C.P.) code of ethics on confidentiality and would only consider breaking confidentiality under the following circumstances:
1.If there were disclosure of ongoing abuse/neglect of a child or vulnerable adult.
2. If I considered a client to be a danger to themselves or to others.
3. In situations where there is a legal obligation to do so (e.g. under the Terrorism Act 2000)
I would normally first discuss the situation with the client, encourage him or her to participate in the disclosure and support them in doing this. I will not discuss what occurs in your therapy except in my own supervision (in accordance with the B.A.C.P. code of ethics)
Cancellations and missed sessions
Regularity and continuity are important in therapy, as they give a feeling of reliability and structure to the process. You and I will agree on the days and times of your sessions (normally weekly) and those times will be set aside for you.
If you need to cancel an appointment for any reason, please let me have as much notice as possible. If you are unable to give me at least 48 hours notice the usual fee will apply.
PAYMENT CAN BE MADE ON A WEEKLY OR MONTHLY BASIS. Standard fees for a one hour session are currently £45 for individuals and £60 for couples. There are concessionary rates available for unwaged/low wage earners.
